August 28th is Emirati Women’s Day and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed posted a few of the quotes from his book “Flashes of Thought” (a must-read for his wonderful insights) on his LinkedIn profile: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/empowering-women-hh-sheikh-mohammed-bin-rashid-al-maktoum
“We have already moved beyond the phase of empowering women. Indeed, we are empowering society itself through its women.”
I especially love this one since I consistently see my female students out-achieving my male students (worldwide there are more women in undergrad and post-grad institutions):
“I have said it loud and clear: Beware, men, lest women deprive you of all the leadership positions in the country.”
If this trend continues, will we then need affirmative action for men?
