She walks by me with an abrupt nod without stopping to chat as she normally does. Wait, I think, did I do something to offend her? Is she upset with me? Sometimes we are so quick to attribute others’ actions to something that we did, but what if she was just deep in thought and had a pressing schedule?
Likewise, maybe our friend didn’t respond to our WhatsApp message (even though we KNOW he’s read it and was last seen on online two minutes ago — cyberstalking is now too easy with technology!) because he is in a meeting and can’t respond properly to our question and not because he doesn’t like us anymore.
